SUSHI ROLLS WITH AVOCADO AND SALMON

 

Sushi is simple the best for hot summer nights get-together.

Light, elegant finger food.

Sushi often comes in two different shapes:

MAKI ZUSHI which is rice rolled in algae with various fillings in it

NIGIRI ZUSHI, without the algae, little rice roller that serves as the base for fish creations

 

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

•1 cup of sushi rice (it is important to choose the right type of rice, high quality, short grain and sticky)

•2 1/2 cups of water

•1 teaspoon of rice vinegar

•1 teaspoon of sugar

•1/2 teaspoon of salt

•4 leaves of Nori Algae

•4 teaspoons of wasabi paste

•1-2 pcs of smoked salmon, cut in noodles approx 0.5cm wide 

•avocado cut in tiny sticks

 

METHOD:

  1. Cook the rice like you do for salmon sushi (post salmon sushi)
  2. Lay the Nori Algae on the bamboo mat for making sushi so that the smooth side of the algae touches the mat
  3. Using your fingers, carefully spread the rice on the algae in order to make a layer thick around 2-3cm
  4. Again, using your fingers, apply the wasabi paste on the top of the rice layer
  5. Add avocado and salmon
  6. Roll it using the bamboo mat
  7. From one roll you can cut 7pcs of sushi

 

Serve it with glass of chilled Champagne!
